Horses
Toumba is working to reintroduce a nearly-extinct breed of regional mountain horse, the Mydilis. Short in stature and with a characteristic style, the Mydilis is well suited to the mountainous terrain of his homeland.
Walking Trails
The trails wind and guide us through the beautiful pine forest, through old villages and churches. Along the way we see natural springs and the traditional stone walls and damia which have been used for centuries in agriculture.

Mariana has been at the heart of feeding all her effervesant energy into Toumba's soul this past 7 years. In that time she has welcomed in people from far and near to enjoy the natural beauty of this area and to share in the traditional ways of Greek mountain life. Amongst her many skills she also speaks several languages and is an incredible cook.
Toumba farm is the inspiration of its creator, Kostas Moukas, who decided to return to his mother’s village, Milies, with the dream of bringing life back to the mountains. Toumba is located in the Plomari Municipality of Lesvos Island, a forty minutes’ drive from the city of Mytilene, Lesvos’ capital. Set five hundred meters above sea level, the property proudly overlooks valleys covered by olive groves and pines, and also offers breath-taking panoramic views over the Aegean Sea and Plomari bay. Toumba is home to seventeen horses, hundreds of fig and olive trees, a small vineyard and three organically cultivated gardens. Toumba also has its own spring with pure drinking water, and uses solar panels and wind turbines to generate power for all five guest cottages. Toumba has been proudly organic and energy self-sufficient for over a decade.
